Lasermax CF-Nano Centerfire Laser Review
I belong to the local shooting range club, own a Beretta Nano, and recently bought myself the Lasermax CF-Nano Centerfire Laser specifically made for this pistol. Once received I easily installed it in my Beretta. Once installed I started checking the vertical alignment of the Lasermax as it has a 9mm Sightmark Laser Pistol Boresighter that I had previously bought for it.
Adjusting the Lasermax Centerfire
When looking closer at the Lasermax Centerfire it was about two inches left of the bore laser and adjusting it with a small Allen wrench included with the package was easy. The two lasers came together to a single dot at about 20 feet. Before taking it out to the shooting range, I decided to practice by dry firing it with some 9 mm Luger Precision Caps. In addition, in no time had the Lasermax aligned with the factory Nano sights.
While at the range, the Lasermax did not help much as it was still light outside and mostly used in dark conditions. However, with practicing with the snap caps at 20 feet while in the basement of my home I was able to place most of the shots at the range in the target. I shot about 100 rounds while at the range and returned home to clean my pistol and check if the Centerfire Laser held the alignment.
The laser alignment did not budge and held recoil well.
The usefulness of the Lasermax Centerfire Laser
Using the Lasermax Centerfire Laser when dark makes a huge difference to using in daylight. I have used mine on both occasions recently when visiting a friend on his farm as shooting while outsides not a problem, I found that the Laser still held recoil, and provides you with a crisp clear dot when aiming at targets. The darker it is the better.
The laser is potentially useful to improve your marksmanship and works great with the built-in sight, however, when using for personal defense you require a more decisive and rapid action while shooting. The Lasermax switched on and off by a pushbutton and requires your hands to be quick if used in emergencies.
With the Lasermax installed, I am sure that most women will not have a problem when holding your index finger on the trigger, but may cause problems for some men and women who have bigger hands.
Another thing to consider is that the laser light should not be on all the time when used as a home protection as it will give away your position and as mentioned your hands would have to be quick to trigger it on and off when needed.
